Since Maureen O’Rorke launched the agency in 1984, government and nonprofit organizations have turned to O’Rorke, Inc. to execute successful, innovative and powerful public outreach campaigns. For more than two decades, our award-winning and results-based campaigns have championed environmental, social justice and public health issues.
Our strategies combine a variety of original, cost-effective approaches with traditional marketing methods. We are known for introducing original, economical and effective methods of reach. At the end of the day, we use any appropriate means of communication to solve the problem.
Because so much of our work focuses on changing attitudes and behaviors, O’Rorke has a unique understanding of what motivates people to adopt such changes. We like to call our approach the “What’s in it for me?” marketing method. We understand that personal benefit is behind most decisions, attitudes and behaviors. It’s our job to identify those benefits and market them. We also know how to overcome barriers to attitude and behavior change. We know that today most people are too busy and too distracted to concentrate long and hard on issues, even ones with clear benefits. So we help think things through for people, presenting ideas colorfully and concisely and making it easy for them to respond.
