For the past several years, O’Rorke has created several underage-drinking initiatives for the Marin County Division of Alcohol, Tobacco and Drug Programs (MADTP). O’Rorke has very successfully drawn media attention to youth access survey results, drug and alcohol-related incidents, and youth events in the county. The increased publicity about the issue has helped build community capacity toward sustained social norm change.
O’Rorke has secured regional broadcast and print coverage in all major outlets in the Bay Area on policy changes, focusing on the Social Host Accountability Ordinance with dozens of stories, letters to the editor and ads placed locally to help reinforce messages. O’Rorke implemented successful media plans that included targeted media research/surveys, development and evaluation of media programs.
